The hotel was built in the 1860s when railway travel was a thriving industry, and the Midland Railway Service opened the magnificent hotel next to the train station.

It was constructed in Venetian Gothic architecture and instantly became a favourite of wealthy businessmen. However, despite its remarkable architecture and location, the hotel quickly became outdated and abandoned … Until 2002, when its full potential was realized when it re-opened as St Pancras Renaissance London.
