The Savoy Hotel in London has announced an extraordinary auction event. Over 1,800 items will be up for sale as the hotel embarks on a transformative refurbishment journey, all while remaining operational.
Managed by Fairmont, The Savoy boasts a rich and illustrious history. The hotel is located near London's most renowned landmarks including The Royal Opera House and overlooks the River Thames.
For more than 130 years, this iconic hotel has been at the forefront of luxury hospitality, offering an ever-evolving experience to meet the expectations of modern travellers.
The auction will feature treasures from the Personality Suites, named after some of the most famous guests in The Savoy’s history, as well as items from its 267 luxury rooms and suites, which boast elegant Edwardian or Art Deco styles. Bespoke luxury furniture, handcrafted pieces, unique artworks, silk drapery, and a wide array of tables, chairs, and lighting fixtures will be among the lots on offer.
Since opening in 1889, The Savoy has welcomed the most glamorous and notable figures, including Sir Winston Churchill, Marlene Dietrich, Marilyn Monroe, and Frank Sinatra.
