Starting today SWISS has introduced a new service on all its long-haul flights, offering free internet chat to its customers.
Passengers in all classes of travel can now enjoy unlimited access to chat services like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Telegram throughout their flight, with no data limit. This means they can stay in touch with family, friends, and business partners during their journey using their smartphones, laptops, or tablets.
In addition to the free chat service, SWISS travellers have the option to access further internet functions by choosing from two supplementary packages. For CHF 25, they can opt for the 'Wi-Fi 4 Hours' package, providing four hours of internet access for browsing, emailing, and using social media. Alternatively, for CHF 35, passengers can avail the 'Wi-Fi Premium' package, offering unlimited internet access throughout the flight. First Class and HON Circle Members enjoy unlimited internet access as a complimentary perk.
All internet packages, including the free chat service, come with unlimited data volumes, allowing passengers to consume data-heavy content without restrictions. However, video streaming services will be disabled to ensure sufficient bandwidth for as many passengers as possible. Nevertheless, videos on social media platforms will remain playable, and other services like audio streaming, cloud services, and VPN will be available.
