Etihad's CEO - Antonoaldo Neves - has confirmed a new Business Class seat/suite for the airline's new Airbus A321LR fleet.
The Abu Dhabi-based airline is due to receive ten new single-aisle A321LRs next year which will feature “14 lie flat Business Class seats and two seats in the front of the cabin which offer even more comfort.”
Speaking to Aerotelegraph, Neves went on to confirm that Etihad will put fully lie-flat seats in Business Class - mirroring its major rival Qatar Airways.
Currently, the airline flies nearly 90 aircraft - serving 70 destinations - but Neves' five year plan will see that number jump to 110 destinations, served by around 160 aircraft.
The Boeing 777x will not be part of the plan - with the Airbus A350-1000 possibly joining the fleet. There are no plans for a new Etihad First Class or indeed the addition of a Premium Economy Class.
